Our Little Acorns and Little Oaks Rooms each care for up to nine children and are located on the ground floor at the front of our setting. Although the rooms operate independently, both offer the same warm, nurturing environment where young children can explore, play, and grow with confidence.
Each room is thoughtfully arranged into areas of provision that stay consistent, helping children feel secure while still being challenged. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and offer a rich mix of continuous provision, weekly invitations, and playful provocations that reflect children’s interests and the seasons.
These experiences encourage children to think deeply, ask questions, investigate, and discover new ideas in their own time.
At this age, children are developing a strong sense of self. We support this by giving them freedom, choice, and independence—always with gentle guidance from our experienced team. Through play, they learn to share, take turns, and co-operate with others, building the foundations for positive relationships.
Snack time is a lovely moment in our day. Children sit together at the table, chatting with friends and staff while practising important self-help skills. They pour their own drinks, serve their own snacks, and use real plates, glasses, and metal cutlery. It’s a simple routine that builds confidence and independence.
Every child is unique, and we respond to them as individuals. Our team tunes into children’s interests and needs, offering meaningful learning experiences right there in the moment. This approach helps children feel seen, understood, and supported as they grow.
A wide range of open-ended resources is always available, encouraging children to explore, experiment, and follow their own ideas. Staff observe closely and join in sensitively to extend learning when the moment is right.
Both rooms have direct access to their own self-contained toilet and nappy-changing area, making routines smooth, comfortable, and reassuring for little ones.
