Yellow Room - Pre-School Age

The Yellow Room is the pre-school room and caters for 22 children and is located on the ground floor at the rear of the property with direct access to the outdoors.

We operate a self-registration system. This involves the child looking at a selection of names to find their own name supported by the practitioners if necessary. Your child can then place their name onto the self registration tree.

A rich and varied environment supports children’s learning and development. It gives them the confidence to explore and learn in secure and safe, yet challenging, indoor and outdoor spaces.

Each child will have the opportunity to be the leader, choosing our snack, story, song etc. for the session.

Children are provided with the opportunity to access ‘rolling snack’ independently if they wish, or continue in their play activity either indoors or outdoors.

The continuous provision provides opportunities for children to select, wear, with what and how to play. They are truly invested in their play, they become deeply involved and make great progress. During these times we will focus on individual children and implement unique experiences 'in the moment' to enhance learning and development.

We will be using ‘Jolly Phonics’ which is a leading scheme for teaching literacy skills and is consistent with the seven areas of learning and development. Jolly Phonics has also been adopted by many schools, therefore giving your child continuity.

The children have direct access to their own bathroom.

I love the tapestry and focus weeks as it allows me to see exactly how and where my child is developing. The staff are always friendly and I couldn't be happier at how much my child is growing and learning.
